The market has been hit seriously by the financial crisis. Although there are positive signals for recovering, especially from US and UK, investor behaviour is still cautious. Based on an European wide study covering the energy industry conducted by GJP International in 09, market participants expect the full recovery of investment activities not before 2011/2012.
Besides the technical knowledge in transactions, those candidates have to provide high personal integrity and confidentiality, an excellent relationship network within relevant regions, high competence in regulatory affairs and awareness of ongoing privatisation processes.
GJP International supported the investment and banking sector setting up Energy Finance teams engaged in M&A processes. A regional focus of theses activities was put on Eastern Europe and Russia (e.g. search mandates for Regional Directors).
